About Midwest Hype
Midwest Hype was born over six years ago in a small town in Indiana , part of “Harbor Country.” LaPorte , IN served as the backdrop for their spark of creation, which evolved into a real force of music at Ball State University in Muncie , IN. The college environment provoked more musical exploration and genuine commitment as musicians—matured by their environment, independence and the integration of new members enrolled in the BSU school of music. Each band member's unique education, focus and skills come together to form one of the most promising young bands in the nation—several of which perform regularly with various Jazz bands, including international tours throughout Europe. They produce a sound that both provokes thought and stirs the soul to get out of your seat and throw up your hands and dance, intertwining distinct music and lyric genres erupting into an entirely original and unique blend free from the stereotypical constraints of individual genres, giving all music fans something to enjoy. Songwriting is brought to live with exacting, blended precision and skill beyond the eddy-circling confines of the jam-band, enveloping and embracing audiences to travel along side them on a physical and spiritual journey of innovation from the launching pad of polished studio music production into superbly engaging stage performances. As full and cohesive their sound, each member is an individual with distinct and unique persona’s deep-rooted in their genuine Midwest upbringings seasoned with the flavor of their generation. As honest as they are with themselves and their music, they are unrelentingly funny people to be around—positive, fun-loving spirits that bring freshness and love to life.

about Mudkids--
Rusty Redenbacher (fka Choc Soreel) Lyrics, Vocals
Elp-Mass Production, Turntables

Indianapolis, Indiana's MUDKIDS have been a major part of the independent hip-hop scene in the Midwest for over a decade. MUDKIDS have released four albums, independently and are currently in the studio finishing their fifth, 'We Are Dynamic And People Like Us'. Elp-Mass and Rusty met years ago at a local hip-hop night in a reggae club, that ended up becoming a jazz club (while Rusty was in a rock band and Elp-Mass was a student at Indiana University) and they have been partners ever since. MUDKIDS are jazz cats that rock; they have never catered to trends and whims, they are determined to refine and perfect their craft and have maintained a consistency most hip-hop bands would envy. This is a band that hits the stage two men strong and plays like there are twenty. The live show is a celebration, a joyous affair. The Mousetrap, 56th and Keystone. 255-3189
All the best Jam bands play the Trap. NO COVER!!

ELIZABETH COOK, VULGAR BOATMEN at Spencer's Stadium Tavern
December 5, 2009 from 8pm to 11pm
Here’s that rarest of comodities, alt-country that matters. Nashville’s Elizabeth Cook comes across as a true and natural Queen of the Honky Tonks. Her big twang-heavy vocals (squarely in the tradition of heroes Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton) are ...
