I am in Atlanta nad have been since about 1989. My life is great, wife four kids. I have been working out alot lately as you can see form my photo. People often tell me I resemble Brad Pitt. I don't see the resemblance.
I meant to tell you much earlier that the photo of Sigrid and Gunnar from Christmas was adorable...strong work and my (our) best to Robin. Looking to be in Chicago in June. More later.
I look the same? Ha! That's just my strategic use of soft-focus to keep me looking young...
Good to see & hear from you. Congrats on the kiddos, bet you're having fun with them. Connor is 13 and Maille is 11 now...I'm going to blink and they're going to be gone. Can't believe how quickly it goes.
Hopefully the next time I wander through Chicago we can get caught up (and if the stars align correctly, Patrick will actually be in town instead of some foreign country).
I live on Lake Shore Drive (btwn North and Division). Am back in the office on Monday and will check my calendar to set a date to meet up!
Happy New Year!
I "chatted" with Pat two or three months ago via e-mail. He is still in the Chicago area. He's played in several bands since Purdue. I have the GCT stuff in mp3 format. I ripped it from the cassette so the quality isn't the greatest but could send it if you or Mike are interested. I agree - the stuff still sounds pretty darn good.
I'll dig up Pat's e-mail address and send it you. The veipa crae sounds good. It has your influence all over it. I haven't played for a couple of years and starting jones big time. Hoping to find some good folks to enter into a playing frenzy. The last band I was in, the Drug Sniffing Dogs, spoiled me. It was just a cover band, but we learned a whole new set list for each gig (we played out about 3 times a year) and our motto was "The more you drink, the less we stink". We has no shame and it was a rockin good time.
Robert - I posted a blog about The Suadetones on my MFT site... sparked by some comments on one of the other blogs here about "Muncie Cassettes." Lots of good memories and material... now with 100% less "evil Devonna" hehe... (I opted not to mention Devonna's hissy fit backstage at Caberet Metro in 91...)

Hey Robert,
I was wondering when you would appear here on the Tree. Glad to know you're still involved with music, though I know it's tough with little ones at home. I'll have to check out your current project online.

Robert, I run into Rob Eddie occasionally when I am in Lafayette. Robert Meitus lives in Bloomington and is actually a member of this list (as is Danny Ray, who lives in Portland, OR). I do not see the both them as often however. We all got together two years ago to hang out and go see Elvis Costello give a workshop and concert at Butler.
Andy, yeah, I know what you're saying...the Lemonheads then instantly faded into multi-platinum obscurity. That's such a great perspective when most people have no idea the band even existed pre-1992.
If anyone bothering to read this hasn't heard t…
I'm not crazy about Michael Jackson or modern-day indie rock, but I will sing the SHIT out of some prime Manilow.
Burd, you nailed me.
I write the songs that make the whole wooooorld siiiing....
ahhhh Bullet Lavolta, their 1st 12" almost bordered on being the new Jerry`s Kids !!! Then they hit the UK with the Lemonheads & they both fell away.....those were the days lol
What gets me is people forget that punk/hardcore was NOT a private party…

Ben Blackburn current efforts for finding a band have been fruitless
Burd, I would never accuse you of being shy about speaking your mind. And I doubt anyone would have thought me anything but a raging snob from way back. And with the anti-Manilow snobbery of the post below, we continue to have plenty in common. FTR:…
John, it didn't seem like good natured to me when I went back and looked. It reeked of pretentious snobbery. Haughtiness. The funny thing is; I'd probably step up and say something if someone was doing it to you. Incidently, there are all sorts of t…
