Met Gary on eBay back in 2005. Became friends, and used to hang out in his blog a fair bit. Great guy...I know he's missed deeply by his closest family & friends, and though we never actually met in person, I feel very fortunate to have known him for the short time that I did. RIP Lumpy. I bought his Steve Gibbon's Band vinyl collection (along with many other LP''s), and each time I spin one of these records I think of Lumpy aka Buddy Ray X aka Gary Bullock...
Here's a video that I uploaded featuring one of the LP's I acquired from Lumpy;
Yesterday, on my way to work on the train, "Strange" from Wire's Pink Flag came on and my thoughts were transported to a time when you lived in Markleville and I came to visit. It was incredibly hot, there was a container of Shower to Shower powder on the table, wooden floors, records all around...We were listening to Pink Flag and I remember listening to The Cramps "Gravest Hits, too. Donna was pregnant with Niles...Talking.
Calling ALL midwest folk (esp Bloomington).....Lumpy (March 10, 1953 - April 29, 2010 R.I.P.) of the "Repellents" (Midwest Hardcore/punk band) is going with me in under 3 hours too see BAD RELIGION on a long standing favour where upon we will both enter "the pit" & only one will come out of it !! Already got the song picked out on request......here too a "special" night for both of us !!
Bad Religion July 13th will be the night Lumpy "Repellent" (RIP) ashes will be laid too rest as part of his UK Tour.....one of England's longest running venues & one of America's longest running Punk bands.....very fitting i feel for a Punk Rock old schooler who is no longer with us !!

Lumpy was the one guy you could count on, he has been a friend for years.... we have been working together solid for the past two years. He was the one cat you knew would come through in a pinch. You can see how many people's lives he touched. I will truly miss him.
Lumpy, I wonder what you would think of all these posts. I hope you would like them. All I can say is that I'm glad we were friends. I'll miss all the talking and playing we did. There will never be another like you...They broke the mold.

I can't believe it's been a year.
Lumpy, you are missed, my old friend.
I can't help but smile at the irony of the heading on this page: "You can't win, buddy", followed by: "
it was an honor to be in a band with you
ricky slammie
I always enjoyed talking guitars with you back in the day. I know you'll keep rockin'.
