North Manchester, Indiana

A client of mine, a band called Dawes from L.A., told me about a fantastic show they played last night at an all ages club called The Firehouse in North Manchester, Indiana. They said they had a great turnout, and the club did a fantastic job of setting up a nice dinner, accommodations, etc. They really just flat-out raved about the whole experience.

Has anyone else heard of the place? Sounds like it should be on everyone's radar if it's not already. I'd never heard of North… Continue

1995 "Drive-Time" Radio DJs Investigate Internet TV (ROX)

For fans of ROX, Editor B. has posted a recording of a 1995 "drive-time" radio program which did a segment on ROX and that whole crazy internet thing: "ROX on KSD FM"

Editor B. writes: "think it’s worth a listen, not because of our lame attempts at humor, but for what it reveals about how… Continue

Pete's Posters

Hello to anyone who sees this post. Those of you not around Bloomington may have missed Pete Schreiner's awesome poster retrospective at Boxcar, which was definitely a highly nostalgic trip for me and I imagine would be for many of you as well. I didn't take photos of every poster, but I got quite a few and uploaded them to Flickr and thought you all might like to check them out here. I want to go… Continue

The Music Business

I was thumbing through a copy of Mansion on the Hill by Fred Goodman and I came across an interesting quote from Peter Wolf, the singer from the J. Geils Band. He said that for the first generation of folk-influenced rock writers post-Dylan, it was unthinkable to be concerned in any way about the business of music. They were artistes, period. For that generation of artists, thinking about royalty rates, publishing ownership, or recoupable tour support would have been ludicrous. As a major… Continue

Anyways this brings me to this weeks band.

Hello again everyone! I think im running a week late but hopefully thats alright. I received a new album from Jeb last week and just now got around to listening to it. So here I am just now finishing up the last track. And i got to say that its pretty darn good. The album is David England's "Little Death." Ok lets jump into the review:

More Stuff....

I dug through the vault, and found some good pics of folks. I hope everyone finds them to be ones they haven't already seen. I also added more music. Thanks to all my friends here on the tree. It's been amazing to touch base with you all again.

About, waning interest in the MFT site. No worries... I believe this is an ebb and flow kind of thing. I just found/posted the site starting last month, but some folks have been doing this quite awhile. I'd be scared if these folks spent all… Continue

New MFT coming soon

MFT 2.0 or is that 3.0 has been under daily development for the last few weeks. After a couple false starts the last year or so we have been able to consistently free up one of our developers at Small Box, Jordan Wilson, who is also a great designer and flash developer. A triple threat he is! We are working from the Kevin Fitzpatrick designs for the overall look and feel of the site.

I expect to launch the site by the end of the summer. I want to get it rock solid before going live… Continue

Cool Site- South Bend Power 90s

A buddy, thanks Brendan!, sent me a link to a cool blog called South Bend Power 90s documenting, as the title might suggest, bands from the 90s who also happened to live in South Bend/Notre Dame.

I was briefly part of the South Bend scene (89-92ish) and know some of these bands. In particular check out Brian, Colin and Vince, still one of my favorite Indiana bands, ever. Brian Muller was, and hopefull still is, an amazing songwriter. Also… Continue
