How was the show? I hung out with Alec yesterday, but after living in California I'm far too wimpy about cigarette smoke to brave the Melody. Hopefully it was packed, otherwise I'm going to feel very guilty about not going.

In the early nineties, when the Indianapolis scene was supposedly dead, Split Lip could draw a 1000 kids for shows at the India Community Center. Their early sound wasn't for everyone; they were far more chunkie-metal than punk and their songs nev...

I'm surprised no one commented on this. I just found it. Awesome. There is a little Sty zine sticker on a corner of the building I work in downtown. It makes me smile every time I see it.

Our man in D.C...

Actually Bloomington, NY, SF, Rome, or where ever else they can afford 6 figures for a couple of hours of music... Here's our homeboy Josh Bell playing in the L'enfant Plaza Metro station a while back. You've probably heard about this, the story is reaching legendary status, but it's the first time that I've seen the videos. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/04/AR2007040401721.html

I got an A+!

My final project for my Sound Design class. The video is flawed, but I'm pretty happy with the audio. I composed the main theme and the piece under the "transformation" sequence, but the "love theme" is Phillip Glass. We were supplied with video from different films and were supposed to edit them together into a fairly coherent narrative with music and sound effects. Now...Somebody give me a job!

Teenage EMO Freakout!!!

Check out that Tanner Boyle song, it's from the first record that I worked on that actually got released. The Kooch and I recorded it when we were interning at September Recording in one of those mammoth all weekend recording sessions. It's completely sloppy and out of tune, but were you making records this good when you were a teenager? I played with these guys for a while later on. I wasn't really into this style of music, but their spirit was really infectious. The first time I played in DC w… Continue

Cool Cliff May article

From the Chronicle. I love Mid-Century ranch houses, it's probably from growing up in Eagledale/Speedway. My Dad has a killer little brick rancher out on the westside that he's always complaining about. If that thing was in LA (if you could have a brick house in LA) it would be some movie star's million dollar bachelor pad, but in Indy they're a dime a dozen. Whenever I come home I fantasize about how great all of our Modernica Eames/Nelson knock-offs would look in there.

I avoid Decatur, Franklin and Wayne townships at all costs, stay away from the corners and on the main stem. Maybe you should 'Get A Garmin'?

You know who you are, come out and be counted! Did you spend countless nights at Second Story? Did you eat at Rockits? Can you barely remember the 1990s?

Warped Tour was a blast! NOFX, Anti-Flag, Bad Religion, Flogging Molly, and The Ataris all put on good shows. Hadn't slam danced in years before this; I don't remember it being that tiring.
