I was born in a little log cabin in Martintucky (Martinsville) My mom and I moved to Bloomington for her job in 81' or so. My entire family were strict Jehovah's Witnesses, my mother was the black sheep having been "disfellowshipped" from the religion when I was very young. My mother was a party person. Needless to say I was always torn between total rebellion and absolute conformity. A few years later at South High School, and still trying to fit in somewhere, I was introduced to Jan Berzins.I still remember him asking me if I liked 'hardcore' (the only hardcore I knew then was porn) but of course I said," Oh yeah sure." Later I bought my first hardcore album and never looked back. Some girl invited me to an Old Library show and it was a blast. Eventually after screwing up and skipping class etc, I dropped out of high school.A little later I ended up hiding from the police by living at "shanty town" in Dunn Meadow(probably around the same time period as the photo of Mike Whybark carrying Josh Martin) Josh stayed at shanty town a bunch(on weekends ha ha). he was my first real 'punk' friend (ha ). Later after wearing a wig as a disguise the police got a tip I was at shanty town, and off I went to Indiana Boys School. After about 6 months there I turned 18 and was released in early 87'? Inspired by Tussin-Up, I started a zine called "The NO Scene Boredom Zine" and then a little later Josh and I started The Peace Dykes, with such forgettable non-hits as "I Can't Sing" and
"Looks like McDonalds Again"(Bill Foster and I once went to McDonalds to apply for a job mostly as a joke) I stayed at Josh Martins house for sometime growing plants, making the zine and playing music in the garage. I refused to get a job back then and looking back I'm glad as it was truly one of the best memories of my life(for the most part). Well someone stole all of my plants in the middle of the night. Which sent me into a depressing spiral. I went back to my childhood religion for a while, thinking the "end of the world" was near. I stayed in martinsville for a while(I got unbeleivable amounts of flack for this from everyone but Burd). Steve Millen(sp?) died about this time and I was very saddened to hear this. Well after this I moved from here to there and back again through various adventures in the late 80's and early 90's culminating with living in the Allen Building above the Uptown Cafe in 92'. At this time I was in the band Jawwagon. We were much better than the Peace Dykes but only played twice(Waldron Arts Center and Second Story for Brian Friedmans memorial) Brian died while I was living in the Allen Building. That was one fun year or so though. Eventually I drove to Boulder Colorado and lived in my car for about 5 months. I returned to Martinsville with two bags of clothes as my only possessions. I got a grocery store job and have worked in that 'profession' pretty much since the beginning of 1995.

Hey John!
Saw Elvis most recently May 16, 2008, with the Police in Orlando. In the $200+ ticket section people were so rude. I was standing thu Elvis, and people were bitching. They wanted to see the Police.
Also caught him a few times at House of...
I also transferred the one practice recording I have of Bloodcouch recently. It's a bit strange because the battery in the PZM mic we were using to record it was dying during the recording. Lon Paul would probably have been in possession of the vi...
