Hello Teri:
What is up?
How art thou? It is good to see you are well. Danielle and I are both fine, same as always in B'town. You rock... Please let us know if and when you are in our backyard here in Indiana.
energetically yours, -Al
Teri,
So great to see you here. I trust all is well with you. I love the pictures and music of the Dirtybirds. Life's good here. I do miss jolly old England.
Michelle would've surely told me it was you! She'd know that I'd want to see you if you were in Austin. I'll have to ask her. Maybe the friend didn't work at the Guardian. I'll find out.
Well, it's too bad you were here and I didn't get a chance to have a drink with you at the Longbranch or the Scoot Inn, two of my favorite watering holes here in Austin. Next time! Have a good time catching up with Strohm while he's over there.
It's good to see you on here. Where HAVE you been?! Have you seen Christen lately? It sure would be nice to see you budget girls.
I hear that a friend of yours that works at The Guardian is friends with my friend Chelsea. Is that true? Ooh, I can't remember her name but Michelle's met her.
Whiskey and cards indeed. Not sure how England's going to work - I'll get into London Friday noon but I'm going straight to Oxford. I think Jake and I will probably go back to London either Friday or Saturday night. Sunday 'til I leave is full. Let me know if Friday or Saturday is better for you. Like to meet yr hubby as well...
Teri, I get no props for "engineering" the budget girls' first session. I need a writing credit on Teabaggin' as well. I have kids now; I need to sort out my retirement. 1/3 of those royalties would sort me properly. I'll be in England next week - be good to get together. Nice to see you here after blowing my chance to see Motorhead at SXSW.
about those instruments I "play"... they're played very badly. more like molested.
am I the last one of my ol' gang to sign up to this? where have I been??? well, lemme tell ya...
moved from lovely Bloomington to swingin' London back in '93. Sean Benham talked me into it then ditched me there. (asshole.) went back and forth a bit, got hitched in glamorous Vegas to a little Brit dude named Owen and moved here permanently, split up a couple years later, married another Englishman named Ben, who I still adore. no kids, one fluffy feline called Mimi.
I work for a national newspaper called The Guardian, editing part of its weekend arts and entertainment supplement and writing a bit. for kicks, my husband and I put on a small, weekly rhythm'n'blues/poker night in a Soho dive bar -- inspired by those old poker parties with John Strohm, Chris Willems, Alex Cosby and various other whiskey-drinking gamblers -- as well as a bi-monthly 60s club with Liam Watson of Toe Rag studios fame. he's the lucky guy who got to record the Budget Girls and Dirty Burds too!
we live in Camden Town, which is an awesome location for eating, shopping, getting hammered and seeing gigs. come visit!
What bands are you or have you been in?
The Budget Girls, The Dirty Burds, The North Seven Super Slots, Go Kart 800 (those last two are kinda phoney baloney... only existed on records)
