Jeb - It's Feb 9th and as I try to make a CD order the prices are coming up full price, not half-price for the sale. Is there a code or some other missing piece of the puzzle? Thanks -- Phil
Hopefully I can figure out how to operate this thing -- if I can sign up then 'bout anyone can ... I mean, I can't even find a digital photo og myself! gesh...

Modern Vending played twice at the Southgate House. This would have been soon after the Jockey Club closed. Late 80's I think. Biff Danger was with us for both shows.
The first was opening for the Flaming Lips. I remember being impressed that they assaulted each of my senses. Really loud, bright, stinky from the smoke machines, covered in filth form the smoke machine… I can’t remember how it tasted though.
The second time was opening for Big Black at their 2nd to last ever show. Manwich played. Also a band called Dark Arts. I think 10,000 Switches played too. I think we were the only out of town band. There is a video of this show that Tony Philpot shot from the audience. It’s kind of fucked up but we were really rocking. I may post some of this if I get around to it.
Thanks!!! I love them so much. It was hard after the primaries to hear them so disappointed, but between me and my aunt gently prodding, they got the info they needed to make the leap. Ohio's surely going to go blue! (Sarah Silverman gets mad props from me. The Great Schelp probably needed a bigger head start tho to be really effective.) Thanks for the tip on TAZA -- I never get over to that side of UC anymore. We should actually hang out once in a while, no? ;-)
Hi Phil -- Your images of the dashiki, Steve K, Frog Autumn, and "Pictures of Matchstick Men" are correct. I don't recall anyone in the band living on Queen Street, but my memory isn't always the best. :-)
I remember once running into you on campus near the Noyer Complex -- maybe I was returning to my dorm from a No-Bar concert -- and at some point you were talking about an apple orchard that had been in Muncie (maybe on the Ball Estate?). Not sure why, of all things, that particular memory leaps out, 'cause I also saw you at Amnesty International meetings and events, concerts, etc.
I was so full of shit:) I just recall how great everyone was helping this "wanna be" reporter with all that newfound technology!! I still have the review and I blush when I read it. Still have the album too. Good thing I changed "career paths" and managed the Subway and served the Breakfast at the Tally WENDY's - I can't tell you how many punkers got fed because of me - Giles, Matt - all that black hair crew. You can live on French Fries after all. Who DIDN't WORK at Subway is the question? I see all sort of silly photos with the familiar Subway wallpaper in the background. Two for Teusdays!!!! Naked Rugby guys buying food - Swapping beer with the guys from Muglys. Good stuff. Thanks for responding. I will pass your best onto my SEISTER. MB
Well Hello to ya Phil G! My sister Heidi and I still talk about Poetry Workshop with Darlene Mathis Eddy. This was where I proudly announced that Heidi was my sister in my introduction and she, in her introduction, said "I am my own being" or something ridiculous like that. We still talk about your "final" whereby you sung your poetry. In through the pipes, down to the river...something like that. And we both still have all of the hideous poems that we wrote for that class. But it was hard for me to work in study time - I had all that drinkin' ta do! Heidi and I are both in CA. 4 hours from one another and best friends. We always wondered where you were. Now I can tell her. We will sing in your honor.

Marvin P. Goldstein Where are the blogathons and heated debates nowadays here at MFT?
This show was GREAT. I kept thinking how wonderful it will be to invite PGT back to the Hoosier State for a show - perhaps in an all ages venue - where some of the young music fans and musicians can experience electronic music arising from a very ...

I doubt the dude in the western shirt is very happy about this photo, whereby it appears that the creature from Alien is about to tear through the flesh of his face. Or about being gently chin-caressed by Moz. Or about singing a duet with Chris Sw...
I read it the same way...I became confused by the positive prose that followed - I assumed what would follow was that the music totally sucked. Glad to hear this sort of thing is happening in B'ton.
