Dropped out of college in '82, became sick of working in the steel mills, and moved to Bloomington from the Region in '83 where I paid my landlord, the well-known lout and raging idiot Larry McCaughnahy, $75/month for a dumpy room at the corner of 4th and Dunn. (It's now a parking lot.) Bartended off and on at various places and worked at Ozarka Record Store. Left Bloomington in '86 and returned (to Brown County) in '89 until '94.
I was a big fan and friends with many of the roots rock and punk band folks, some poets and other artist types, and a few mad men and women during those ten years.
I really miss Sunday mornings looking out onto Kirkwood from the second floor of the Allen Building....
