The Death of Pandora (and all legal internet radio)

Not that this will effect MFT itself, but it is something I think ALL music lovers will be interested to know.

Pandora Could Be First Major Casualty of New Royalty Rates: blog.wired.com/music/2008/08/pandora-could-b.html

This is part of what killed JagRadio. Not a good sign for the music industry.

AOTM & Vulgar Boatmen Live at 2006 MMS MFT Showcase

After a 1.3 years of self-imposed hiatus from anything other than work & staying home, Jeb Banner slowly prodded me into finally reengaging with the world and mixing down some of the 100 or so shows I recorded over the course of a year and a half, mostly for MFT.

I mixed down the Margot at the Irving (12/30/06) show over the course of a week or so, to get my mixing chops working. http://www. musicalfamilytree. org/band/margot_and_the_nuclear_so_and_sos

Jeb & I got together for a couple… Continue

That sounds so cool. We would love to do something like that during a show of ours but..we're all still 17 and 16 yrs. old and don't play big enough places to do something like that.
I imagine a bigger type of show/venue would be necessary for the multi-tracking?

Yeah, it's been pretty ugly here. Third St is still closed off going into Main St and the beautiful river walk that was finished this year was completely under water. I live not too far from where you grew up, just south of Third St and west of Wisconsin. It's a nice neighborhood. There are a bunch of nature preserves near me so I have all sorts of wild life running around my yard regularly. After living in Chicago for years, I love the quiet and peace here.

I spend time in your neck of the wood quite a bit. I have a bunch of friends in Indy, Fishers and Zionsville. My friends in Fishers were the ones who got me looking at this site.

Awesome!
That'd be very cool indeed.
Is that basically a live feed of a show?

Thanks a lot Mike!
As of now we're recording in Carmel at Diehl Productions.

Yep, I moved to Hobart in 2002 after getting tired of living in Chicago. Now instead of pigeons and rats, I have deer and cardinals. Brickie fever is still going strong around here.

I used to use the EQ for a clean boost, but the Maxon OD808 is the best clean boost I've used. I also used it as a treble boost to get that fried-out, denatured Telecaster sound, like on Captain Beefheart's Doc at the Radar Station. That was the s...
