Born at Methodist hospital, raised on the north side of Indianapolis, I was brought up partially backstage at Beef n Boards dinner theater. There I made the assumtion that i would live out my days as a dinner theater actress. I performed at Theater On The Square and the Indianapolis Civic Theater. Somewhere along the way, I saw the Blake Babies at Modern Times and musical aspirations shifted. I never thought girls could be in bands until then. A way overdue thank you to the three of you is in order.... girls can totally be in bands by the way.
Soon, I met Paul Cauchi, and Kent Jolly, while singing Velvet Underground' songs on the front porch of the now defunct 'Everythings Comming Up Roses' restaurant in Broad Ripple , asked if they'd like to make a rock band, and showed up at 'Brand X', with a couple of songs.
From there, we met or first drummer, John Cieling Walker, and PJ Christie, on the bass.
After some time the drum seat was re-assinged to one, LonPaul Ellrich, and Kent, and Paul went of to pursue other adventures.
I believe Kent Jolly and I met Marty Green at a party. He played guitar and sang and i just couldn't believe how beautiful it was. I still really can't. Anyway, Sardina was hatched.
I love the music that the four of us made together, all of the experiences that we shared shaped me into who I am, I am proud of that art work and so proud to be part of this amazing community, though i live so far way. I hope that there is there, a feeling of satisfaction in knowing that so much soul exists in the music and art and community that comes from all of us Hoosiers or Cutters or whatever we call ourselves. I joke about something being in the water there all the time,.. maybe I'm right... maybe it's 'souljuice'.
My heart is there, without me right now with the loss of LonPaul, For his friends, for his family. Just typing his name is emotional. I believe good can come from this hard lesson. I may seem corny to say, but we all do live in one another forever. We are so so lucky to honor one another with each other here in this short life. It is so awesome that we can share our work and love and our lives, and what an improbability it really is! Take care of each other. Take care of yourselves. Huge love to everyone there. and keep sending love to Austin...

Oh, YOU are the soybeans. Sorry for the rejection on MySpace. I didn't even look. I thought you were another turntablist from South Dakota looking to beef up his friend list.
It was so amazing to see you Michelle, and I loved that I could sneak up on you like that!! Yeah, hope to see you again soon. I was marveling recently over that point in Antelopes where you freak out... your voice can really fill a room.
Michelle, I have a vague memory of seeing one of your bands play at the Feris Building in downtown Indianapolis. It was post-Sardina, but not very. Was that the Easy Six? I've been wondering for years. Whoever it was, it was great.
Andy, yeah, I know what you're saying...the Lemonheads then instantly faded into multi-platinum obscurity. That's such a great perspective when most people have no idea the band even existed pre-1992.
If anyone bothering to read this hasn't heard t…
I'm not crazy about Michael Jackson or modern-day indie rock, but I will sing the SHIT out of some prime Manilow.
Burd, you nailed me.
I write the songs that make the whole wooooorld siiiing....
ahhhh Bullet Lavolta, their 1st 12" almost bordered on being the new Jerry`s Kids !!! Then they hit the UK with the Lemonheads & they both fell away.....those were the days lol
What gets me is people forget that punk/hardcore was NOT a private party…

Ben Blackburn current efforts for finding a band have been fruitless
Burd, I would never accuse you of being shy about speaking your mind. And I doubt anyone would have thought me anything but a raging snob from way back. And with the anti-Manilow snobbery of the post below, we continue to have plenty in common. FTR:…
John, it didn't seem like good natured to me when I went back and looked. It reeked of pretentious snobbery. Haughtiness. The funny thing is; I'd probably step up and say something if someone was doing it to you. Incidently, there are all sorts of t…
