Warm aloha to you in the frozen tundra!

Lesley, it's lovely to discover you again! My kids are old fogies now -- like 20 and 25. Six and 7 year olds are hilarious and brilliant; you must be dancing around in a wild world these days.

Divorce sucks but it also opens amazing doors of perception. (Uh oh, the rainbows here are effecting my cynicism : )). Best advice anyone ever gave me was to keep the kids out of the adult line of fire. That was really good advice for me.

Here's an email for you: haolewolf@gmail.com . I'd really like to send you the songs I wrote and recorded. I'm happy to tell you as much about my life as you'd like to hear -- I have a peaceful, crazy, fun exhausting, warm, shark-infested, rainbowy world here on the Big Island.

I didn't see yer face in a Facebook search -- ask to be my friend. Pretty please?!

My fave Charles Nelson Reilly story: a friend of mine ended up spending a weekend in Houston, stranded by a bad airplane situation. For the entire weekend, CNR was also stranded and he spent the entire time drinking heavily at the hotel bar and trying to convince the waitress to, well, you know. Apparently a nice enough guy but boredom and booze turned him into a nightmare for the staff. I love that story.

Did you get to see Spud? Hope all is well with you. Still trying to wrap my mind around falling back into contact with people who I've had to carry with me in my head the whole time. Welcome back to reality and out of my head. Whew.

Sweetie! It's sad that we lost touch, but you'll always be near to my heart. My gal and I will be in B'ton over the 4th, passing by way of Indy, so perhaps we could hook up somehow somewhere?

This MFT stuff is making me a horribly nostalgic bastard in a almost visceral manner...you know what I'm talking about. We've been there together.

I look forward to hanging out with you virtually and I hope in real life, being a mom, do you like it? I am glad to have mellowed and united my crazy party girl side and my crazy protective mommy side into one Perfect being, as i am now--:) ha!

About Me
Moved to Bloomington for school in 1985. Finally ended up in Collins in the spring of that year. Failed out the next spring! Lived with many great folks, some whose names escape me right now: Michael Lane, Spud, Steve, Phillip and Peter Paris. Eventually got back into school and graduated in 1990. Left for Chicago for one year. Then, back to b'ton in '91. Too much school followed: MLIS, M of Ed in counseling, several low paying jobs at IU, then a full-time gig in Financial Aid.

Throughout it all, the usual debauchery and many many great shows and parties. Many cigarettes bummed from Ian. Second Story and Bullwinkles my homes away from home.

Got knocked up in '01, married and then moved the daughter to Indy in '02 to be close to family. Staying at home ever since, but that's soon to change.

Having a blast and kind of a hangover looking at all the photos.
What city are you from?
Indianapolis, Bloomington

the past and the life that keeps being lived

It's been a strange time on the MFT here. I keep trying to get my sea-legs, I guess. In some groups I'm looking backward, pretty far, 20 years or so. In other groups, I'm looking at 10 years. And then in the present life keeps happening, whether I'm ready for it or not. I almost feel like I'm living all these different ages at once. I don't have anything insightful to say. It's just kind of disorienting.

I also can't believe how the tone of everything changed so quickly (at least for me). Of co… Continue

Andy, yeah, I know what you're saying...the Lemonheads then instantly faded into multi-platinum obscurity. That's such a great perspective when most people have no idea the band even existed pre-1992. If anyone bothering to read this hasn't heard t…

Burd, I would never accuse you of being shy about speaking your mind. And I doubt anyone would have thought me anything but a raging snob from way back. And with the anti-Manilow snobbery of the post below, we continue to have plenty in common. FTR:…

John, it didn't seem like good natured to me when I went back and looked. It reeked of pretentious snobbery. Haughtiness. The funny thing is; I'd probably step up and say something if someone was doing it to you. Incidently, there are all sorts of t…
