Two amazing bands playing in Bloomington this month- Wovenhand & Califone

Not sure why one or both acts did not schedule Indy, but Bloomington is not that far away. IMHO, both these bands are about as original & engaging as it gets in terms of truly independent music.

I saw Wovenhand last night at The Empty Bottle, and if you're a fan of 16 Horsepower, then you'll know this is David Eugene Edwards' new-ish band. They are playing at Russian Recording on 10/10. They encored with Joy Division's song "Heart and Soul" and their set was pure sonic-melodic goodness from… Continue

10 Years Gone: Sweet Heart Radiator LP

Recorded at Echo Park between April and July of 1998 w/ the ever skillful hands and ears of Mark Maher at the helm. Still some of my favorite recordings I've ever done/ been a part of, and the line up was me, Kenny Pfau, Aaron Spelbring, and Chris Duggan. This band would eventually morph into Baroo with Kenny, PJ, and I all moving up to Chicago that fall of '98 and hooking up w/ Eric Himes. By early 2000, Deb and Joey Werner had joined the band.

This was a 200 cassette release back in the day t… Continue

Please let us know when. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Portland is a city you'll visit. I'm feeling a bit left out seeing all of the shows posted on this site that I can't attend. Say hello to Geraldine for me. I wonder if she knows where Mike Clark is?

Lance,

What's the good word? I just want you to know that I finally made my way in there. Once I was inside, I went for that shit. And you know what, it all worked out.

I hope all is well.

Best regards,
Eric
