+1983-84. Anne Johnstone introduced me to Spencer Sundell.Sometime in there I went with Spencer and Anne to Bloomington to Ricky's Canteena. I think it was the Vandals, MIA, ??? What I remember from that night was Mike Whybark flying across the parking lot saying "I'm Mike. Who the hell are you?" He was grinning from ear to ear. I was smitten.
+I got my first job ever at Cosmo's Pizza. Yukki worked there and Marvin worked there. They had all ages shows. I loved it. I saw the Zero Boys there. There were shows every weekend in all sorts of hole in the walls. Anybody could put on a show. Spencer and Greyson had one in Greyson's Moms garage!
+My next job was at Cafe Esspresso. I loved being the barrista. John Ferrell and Charlie. Many nights when we closed we would go to the Alley Cat. Remember, I was only 17 or 18 then. I thought I was so cool.
+After high school I followed Spencer to Chicago. That was short lived. I partied too much. I sucked as a room mate. Poor Spencer would come home from work and I would have all these skin heads over to get drunk. Eventually I took off for Detriot then NY. It sucked. Squatted at someplace with some people. Spent most of the time very drunk and scared. Trying to be cool.
+Went back to Chicago and inflicted even more harm on my roomate. Hitch hiked to California. Pan handled my way up the coast. More stupid, humiliating behavoir.
+I came back to Indy and tried to pull myself together. I would go to shows, claim to be 'staight edge'. That would last a week or two. I spent the next two years trying to get it together, but most of what I remember is hazy at best. I remember the acid and following the dead for a few shows. I remember destroying most of my friendships. I remember trying to reinvent myself and failing. I ended up in Tri-county mental health. Seemed appropriate to end up in the looney bin.
+Finally sober, I married Bill Levin. ....it seemed like the thing to do. He asked. We were on tour with GWAR. We were in Vegas. Then we did the Ritz. Then JOT. Then Beautiful Zoo Gods. Then I did Beauty School. I can say in all honesty it was never dull. A few years later. A couple of kids later. I think I really wanted less excitement.
+I hung up my cool card. I faded into a normal person. I married the nicest guy in the world and the bonus is that he is from someplace away from Broadripple. We bought a 100 year old schoolhouse in the counrty 10 years ago(now a part of Fishers). I have a vegtable garden and berries. Its quiet. We have a 6 year old daughter. I just celebrated 19 years clean and sober.
+I still do hair. I have a small shop in Fishers called Balance Hair Art. I also work for Redken NY doing hair shows(just like rock shows) and corporate training. I love to travel. well. thats it on the short version.

I thought it would be fun to list the wild names people have considered using or have used for bands. My favorite REAL band name is Pontious Pilot and the Nail Drivers. Spencer, Greyson??? who else was in it? One of my clients wants to have an all girl band of middle aged women and call it Sheila and the Ovarian Cysts....HAHAHA...
