Texting of Weird Al.... I took Hugh to see Weird Al this summer at the Holiday Star Theater when we were at home visiting the folks. Spur of the moment. Al was f%^&%$ing AWESOME. Other honorable mentions... singing NIN "Doesn't it taste just like butter?" instead of "Doesn't it make you feel better".. I can visualize the Trent Reznor "I Can't Believe Its Not Butter" commercial leading up to the climax of singing the line.
Scence: Trent destroying a kitchen at 6 am while getting his teen age kids ready for school singing:
"Toast! Bagels! Lies! Lies! Waffles! Bagels! Lies! Lies! and Doesn't it taste just like butter?"
Thanks John for helping revive the memory cells. The way the drummer worked with the songs was really great. I remember EnuffZ'nuff too, they were super glam.
And I really enjoyed the Lafayette Brewing Company, they really know how to treat musicians right. Did we meet that night? If not I hope we do someday, then I can regale you with my stories about running sound for the always debaucherous Johnny Frigo band. They made Sardina look like a bunch of nuns. That's a joke.
Me too. I got to work with him a little bit when I was doing sound in Chicago in the late 90's. He was such a funny performer and his repetoire was unbelievable. I never saw him play the same song twice.
Can you straighten out my memory? Vito was his pianist and had a 3 inch binder full of songs, but I really loved the drummer who I think was Johnny's son. Is that right?
