The Mystic Groovies and the Love Cowboys will both reunite after 20 years individually and collectively on November 6th 2009 in Oxford, Ohio. Sadly, a great and venerable venue in Oxford, Ozzie's Balcony is closing it's doors, so in order to give ...
All right. In indy now and prolly hitting the Vollrath later. If anyone wants to make me feel loved, I'll probably be there after 10 or so. Drop me a private msg if yr going so I don't flake.
will do, John!
it's pretty loosey-goosey at the moment, i'm squeezing a jaunt to Nashville, TN in this too. I should be around Indy on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday and would love to bump into some of you kids.
hey all!
looks like i might be darkening the door of Indianapolis this weekend. anything i need see/do? i haven't been the state for almost 6 years.. all i have planned is to hit the MCL and QLs in Muncie..
Mr. Rans, sir, are you still out here? The last few weeks I've been telling folks when I respect their work - may be part of the New Year's Spirit. Anyway, Ian, you do good work. Keep it up. Any new musical recommendations? I just found two from South America: Chico Trujillo and Marcelo Vergara. Find 'em on My Space if nowhere else.
I've still got it, too. How could I throw that away? There was a twin floating around out there (in Chicago) too, that I made for my then-BF -- such a waste! Now that dude had some hair, though -- almost Muncie-worthy.
I guess he must have made them private (friends only) for reasons that escape me -- maybe to avoid humiliating me publicly? here's the best one anyway:

maybe you can find enough details to track the place down. Sounds like a modern musical Speak Easy.
Heard a NPR story (on Weekend America) about an interesting musical gathering in your part of the world, in Minn MN. It's called "the jam" and folks meet weekly for musical at an unlabeled studio "in the basement of an old Polish Catholic school." It started 21 years ago and the #1 rule is no more than two guitarists at a time. Have you heard of it? Ever checked it out?
Glad to hear your folks weather'd the storm... I'm back from my mini-weekend trip to indy (my Dad's 70th b-day) and want to hear how that disc of photos went over...
