About Me
Thank you all for all the good times we had and will have. I really appreciate your friendship over the years.

Family came from Cuba. I'm the youngest and was born in Virgina. Moved to The Virgin Islands, Miami, Colorado, Ohio and then Indiana.

Started playing piano at 3 and then bongos, drums and later guitar. I would jam with my mom on piano, my dad singing and playing wood blocks, and me on bongos. We would play at dinners we would have.

Went to IU and studied physics, acoustics and electronics as well as Jazz Drums from Chuck Krupa, nephew of Gene Krupa. Started playing Guitar in bands.

Moved to Austin with Moto-X for a few years and did an album called "Big Guitars from Texas".

Hi Frankie, thank for the ad, I didn't work with you guys so I don't have any DAT's. Didn't you guys work with Mahern? Did Dan Vonnegut play with you guys at all?

Frankie, did you complete and release the Moto-X Congo Road compilation CD you told me about last August? You said that you had some previously urerleased Moto-X recordings that you planned to release as a CD under the title Congo Road and that you needed Moto-X photos from the Eighties. So I sent you several Moto-X photos from the band's July 1982 live performance at a party at my house in Bloomington. I haven't heard from you in a few months. What happened with the Moto-X CD?

Hola, Frankie! Que tal? Thanks for the comment. Glad you like the pictures. Sorry I missed seeing you and Al and Atomic Bombay at Uncle Fester's last month. When is your band's next show in Bloomington? How is the "new" Moto-X CD, Congo Road, coming along? I'm looking forward to its release so I can hear some Moto-X music. Will any of the songs be recorded live or did you record them all in a studio?

Buena Suerte, Craig

P.S.: Here are some more party pictures from the early Eighties. Recognize any of these wild youngsters? ;)

Frankie, I missed seeing you at Uncle Fester's Friday and Saturday night but I know we'll finally see each other again before too long... John Barge invited me to The Walking Ruins show at Uncle Fester's so I celebrated my return to Bloomington by getting together with some friends and classmates from Bloomington High School South at Nick's. Then a brave old friend, who I've known since we were in elementary school in Bloomington, and I went to Fester's. I met up with John Barge for the first time in over 24 years! John and I chatted for a few minutes and then I waited until after 1:00 am for the Walking Ruins to finally take the stage but it was well worth the wait. Believe it or not, I don't recall ever hearing John sing live before (when I first met him, the Panics had already split up), so this was the first time I'd seen him perform. I was pleasantly surprised by how much manic energy and punk rock rage John projected from the stage!
Franke,
Sorry I missed your Atomic Bombay Show at Uncle Fester's on Saturdaylast night. By the time Al Jarvis told me that you guys were gonna play at Fester's the night after the Walking Ruins, I'd already made my Friday plans and it was too late.

Do you still perform at the Blue Bird in Bloomington? Is that club still a good live venue for innovative musicians making original music?

What are you myspace pages? I'm going to see if I can track you down there.

When and where is your next show in Bloomington? Let me know so I can catch your show. I might be able to go to your live show in Indy sometime, too.
SI, SE PUEDE! YES, WE CAN!

ROCK ON!

Craig

Moto-X 1985 Never Released Album, Congo Road, Remastered by Kevin Loyal

Many thanks to Kevin Loyal for a fine remastering of the Moto-X album. Recorded in Austin in 1985, this album, called Congo Road, was never released. The master tapes are long gone but a studio cassette was found (thanks Billy) and it sounds much better than the old cassette I had.

I'm going to release cuts from that here, and on my site: MotoMusic.com. I hope to release on CD as soon as I can or if I find a company to put it out.
