I have children, a wife and an obsession with music my mother described as"the curse" (she was only partially joking though, she had it too). I can't recall a moment where I didn't have music blaring in my head, sometimes it's two or three different pieces of music at once. It's hard to communicate with others when it's so loud in one's head.
Sometimes I'm able to capture some of that loudness in my head and put it to tape/disk/paper/vinyl/wax cylinder. I've been in bands since I was 10, played my first paying gig at 9 years old (Played trumpet at Ft Benjamin Harrison, got paid $40-- woo hoo!). In any case, I've had so much fun with music and playing in these bands: Johnny Socko, The Aurelians, Las Vegas Body Snatchers, Mr Sparkle, Born Again Floozies and many more.
I will continue to play music until my body falls off my soul, or whatever it is that animates this dust (albeit, fabulously well-dressed dust. I have the fashion sense of a partially blind magpie).
