Ben Minkler has a website or blog somewhere online... I don't have the link. You might check the "No Bar" discussion thread here and see if there's any info. I was partner'd in and would work shifts at the No Bar when the Safety Pups came into being…

Derek i don't log into this site much anymore, but i checked my master tapes and found the masters for both Safety Pups tapes. They probably haven't been played in at least a decade, but I can probably get a dub off them. If you send me your address…

Hello again, I had to get everything digitized and posted. Thanks to everyone for the advice and subsequent trip down memory lane. :) Great to hear all of the other stuff that I would have bought if I had money back then. So, here is a link to the…

Also, I have a box of reel to reel tapes that Jon Rans gave me when I bought his record collection back in 2000 or so. Fantastic collection btw, wish I had more of it left, keep some, sold most. I think most are the psych band he was in. I should d…

Derek, I would love to hear and include some of your "Muncie inspired" music on this site. I think it belongs as long as it's decent quality.

Wow... I just perused the tape archive. Grinning uncontrollably. Makes me want to get off my proverbial butt and make a site for all of the tapes we made as a result of hearing Muncie's finest. Thanks again!

Cool! Thanks to all of you for the advice. I recognize some of those graphics. Not sure if I just saw the cassettes at the old store, or if those images were used on flyers? I have a sticker on my guitar from back then that has a guy pouring out a c…

Safety Pups!! Try contacting Ian Rans on his page here. He has a site of No Bar Music called Bob Chaos (something). I am sure there is a link to his site somewhere here on MFT. Try Bill Zinks marathon "Hello Muncie" blog, maybe.

I have at least one Safety Pups tape. I am in the process of moving, and it is currently in deep storage. I am also temporarily without my master computer (the one I use to digitize cassettes). Hopefully by this fall I will be moved in and posting s…

Derek, The Safety Pups were from Muncie, IN and if memory serves were comprised of Jeff Crowder, Ben Menkler and Jon Rans. None of these fine individuals are members of MFT and I do not know where you could find a copy of the tapes they released in…

I had 2 tapes of the Safety Pups that I bought from them in 87 and 88. They were cool, and their music opened my mind, causing me to become a lifelong industrial music fan and maker. Those tapes were stolen in 1990, by some thief who just broke in a…

About Me
I make strange sounding music. Sometimes I make rather normal techno too. Mostly I am bitter that I don't have a band, so I collect everything I can to make music by myself. It ends up being very loop oriented and noisy.
What bands are you or have you been in?
I name each project differently, so I have many names, but essentially it is all me making different sounds. Occasionally my friends and I will be I same place and I call that stuff The Super Heroes of Tomorrow. Other names I have used are Panic Factor, Einmann, 37ghost, Fatedealer, Derek Lotek.

ISO Safety Pups

I had 2 tapes of the Safety Pups that I bought from them in 87 and 88. They were cool, and their music opened my mind, causing me to become a lifelong industrial music fan and maker.
Those tapes were stolen in 1990, by some thief who just broke in and grabbed stuff including my bag of favorite things.
But alas, I just found a copy that I had made of most of one of them, and realized that with this internet thing, there is hope of me finding THE Safety Pups, or people who know them, or have their… Continue

I love procrastinating with this kind of stuff. Here is a start, no order or top 10, but what I would place in the top 100 or so: Boris, "Pink" and "Smile" and "Amplfier Worship" School of Seven Bells, "Alpinisms" Keren Ann, "Keren Ann" and "la Disp…
