About Me
I think I am going to find a cave and write a novel. Current subject matter: Going Feral in the New World.
Yeah, anyway. . . Brief history:
I was in graphic arts for awhile. Ran a theatre company back in the 90's. Mostly just having fun out here in SF these days. I always miss it back there a little. Haven't been back to Muncie since the mid-80's. Perhaps it's about time for a visit.
What bands are you or have you been in?
Muncie, IN C.1982-3: I was in Jawless Fish with Mike Newell and Scott Keuick. That was incredibly fun. Sort of an early-mid-60's rock, Ramones-tempo, 007/Secret Agent influenced trio. I used to add distortion and speed it up on just about everything we did. We morphed into a band called The Innocents in 1983 for about one performance. We got the name Jawless Fish from closing our eyes, opening up a dictionary and pointing to a word. As I recall, when the word Jawless Fish was pointed to, we sort of looked at each other like 'maybe we should try again?' but then said the heck with it - that's our name. And we stuck with it.

Currently living in Sf, CA.
Played with a few bands out here:
Danger Babies - 1984 San Diego, Started as a performance art group, then moved up to San Francisco in 1985 and reformed with San Francisco State U. friends. Stayed together until 1990. Pre-Burning Man era pryotechnic insanity. Played the SOMA district wherehouse scene.

Spent most of the 90's doing theatre. Produced a show called Saints Neo-Vaudeville.

2005 to present:
Long Dark Hallway (dark art rock?). Someone said to us, after one of our shows, that we were the Moodiest Band in San Francisco. Now, that's really saying something out here. Technically we are still together but haven't played live for awhile. Our drummer had a baby, all of our jobs became time consuming, etc. But, we are planning on getting back out there with our moodiness.

Developed a taste for rockabilly and played w Missfire and the Detonations.

Gigged recently with Charlie Roman and the Teenage Werewolves. - rockabilly.
What city are you from?

Check Braynplan9.

It's funny, for all we think we have changed, we have remained comfortingly unchanged.

Hey, Bryan!
Scott Kuieck is on facebook. He's in Indy. I sent him a note, but haven't heard back from him. I'll be sure and tell him there's a JF reunion on this page.
With a pocket and shopping list,
Tammy

hey Bry,
Waxing nostalgic and found this site. The other day I was telling my daughter about a painting that you did back in the early 80's and had originally given to Kathy Roth (I think) and began wondering what had become of you. Last time I saw you, you were living back in Indy in lockerbie. Bizarre to see pics of Scot K. and Jawless Fish. I miss San Fransisco, tell her I said hello.

Any "list" of tunes we did would be great... I rack my brain and can only think of "Secret Agent Man," "Steppin' Stone," "All Day & All Of The Night," and... hmm...

Good recall on how the band name "Jawless Fish" was coined. I vaguely remember doing the "pointing randomly into the dictionary" thing and coming up with the name... just reading the definition out loud and laughing...

I'm going with a "phonetic" spelling of Scott's name... I don't recall being in touch with him after Jawless ended... I tried to search Facebook but no luck...

Andy, yeah, I know what you're saying...the Lemonheads then instantly faded into multi-platinum obscurity. That's such a great perspective when most people have no idea the band even existed pre-1992. If anyone bothering to read this hasn't heard t…

Burd, I would never accuse you of being shy about speaking your mind. And I doubt anyone would have thought me anything but a raging snob from way back. And with the anti-Manilow snobbery of the post below, we continue to have plenty in common. FTR:…

John, it didn't seem like good natured to me when I went back and looked. It reeked of pretentious snobbery. Haughtiness. The funny thing is; I'd probably step up and say something if someone was doing it to you. Incidently, there are all sorts of t…
