The Whiteland Barn had the Who in 1967

Cool, I am on a major early Who kick right now, I allways heard that they played in Muncie also, any body know when or where? Somefolks say it was at the fairgrounds, others say it was in a parking lot.

The Who played at the Indiana State Fair opening for Herman's Hermits.
There is a long-standing Anderson rumor that after the fair show the Who played in the basement of Meadowbrook Baptist Church for a BYO sock hop but I have never been able to prove it. The pastor and several residents have sworn it was true, however, recalling the pink clothes the band wore in those days.
I think the Muncie who show was at the Hullabaloo Scene club on SR 32 - Hendrix played there too.
The Who also played at the Famous Door club in Ft. Wayne.
Genesis played an outdoor fest near Mechanicsburg on their first US tour; I think it was at McCullough's Woods.

In the new issue of Uncut Magazine there is an article about Jimi Hendrix's 1968 U.S. tour, with a map of all the places he played. While not specifically named, there is a red dot (which indicates a show) right about where Muncie is. I had no idea. I always thought that was some sort of urban legend.

Hendrix supposedly played at the Delaware County Fair Grounds.

Legend has it that the Who played in Muncie in the parking lot where Shipleys Stop & Shop was (right across from the No Bar). I really want to believe this is true.

According to one online The Who source I found this (From 1967):

Supposedly they played the "Swingin' Gate Teen Club" in Ft. Wayne, Indiana... That's sorta close to Muncie...

The rumor I heard was that Hendrix played the Delaware Fair Grounds as the opening act for The Monkees... I can't substantiate that...

I had no idea that those bands played that much in Indiana, small to medium towns too. We have another Yardbirds sighting at lake Tippicanoe in August 1967.

I used to use the EQ for a clean boost, but the Maxon OD808 is the best clean boost I've used. I also used it as a treble boost to get that fried-out, denatured Telecaster sound, like on Captain Beefheart's Doc at the Radar Station. That was the s...

The Hotcake sounds brilliant with an AC30. I pretty much leave it on all the time.
