Musical Family Tree

The Indiana Music Archive and Online Community

So I am hearing that this is on FRIDAY, JUNE 20th. I got confused and thought it was on Saturday, but NO. Can someone confirm this for me again?

I am at a music festival in Louisville that weekend and was only planning on visiting B-ton earlier in the week, but HOW CAN I MISS THIS?!?! That's right, I can't. So I'm driving back AGAIN just to be there for one night, blowing off a buncha psychedelic bands at Terrastock, most of which I can totally live without. Just don't talk to me about the Helena Espvall/Masai Batoh set, OK?. I wish this Ruins gig had been on Saturday but there ya go.

My Questions:

1. Where is the show and who else is playing?
3. Who else besides some of the Matthew clan and I are coming from out of town?
2. Do people want to get together for dinner before the show? I plan on getting back into town around 6 PM.
3. Can somebody put my girlfriend and I up for the night? We come prepared with pads and sleeping bags, really we just need a floor or a back yard.

Steve, I responded to you over in Ransom's thread, but you should be fine coming from the south. Brown, Bartholomew, Morgan, Johnson, Greene, and Owen counties-- you just can't believe what you're seeing. The flooding of Bloomington on Wednesday was a fluke. I've not seen the like in my 20 years here and it drained quite quickly. Actually, the pizza place I've been pimping was closed last night while they clean up. But yeah! Come camp in my yard! We'll give you some water wings! LOL!

SO!!!!! The time is fast approaching! People are heading out from the far corners to converge on our fair town for Friday's show. If the weatherman can be believed (and recent forecasts have proven that he can't) Friday looks as if it may actually be quite lovely.

Mike (my partner, not Whybark) and I are planning on grabbing some pizza at Uncle D's in Dunkirk Square around 7-7:30 on Friday. There is no need for all the confusion about the location of this place: if you are standing on Kirkwood looking at Dunkirk Square, it will be right in front of you with a bright red awning and a neon sign. A grapefruit in a propeller beanie could find it, alright?

If the weather is nice, we will bring some big blankets and a cooler full of soda and water and plant ourselves in People's Park. We may even make a sign. So if you show up at the pizza place and don't see anyone you know, look across the street for a bunch of middle aged troublemakers and possibly a sign identifying as much. I hear people are planning on bringing their kids, so whatever. If you've got kids, bring 'em on.

If the weather's bad, we can improvise. Leave your Franklin Planner and your Crackberry at home. We'll just wing it.

Looking forward to seeing all of you people on Friday!!!

HEY FOLKS WE ARE IN TOWN!!!

Please call us, it is Thursday at noon and we have no plans for tonight. We will be at the Uptown bar later this afternoon (4-ish) for beers if anyone wants to join us.

Holly, we went ahead and got a motel room for Friday, but thanks for the back yard!

I'm gonna go warn that pizza place now.

I was just riding from campus wondering if you were here yet.

My garden will miss you, but you'll have a better time in a motel, I'm sure!

I think I'm gonna try to come down tomorrow for this hoopla. So if anyone sees me wandering around aimlessly looking for people I knew 20 years ago, say hi!

I used to use the EQ for a clean boost, but the Maxon OD808 is the best clean boost I've used. I also used it as a treble boost to get that fried-out, denatured Telecaster sound, like on Captain Beefheart's Doc at the Radar Station. That was the s...

The Hotcake sounds brilliant with an AC30. I pretty much leave it on all the time.

You have a hot cake! I love those! I also like that I seem to have triggered a trend here.

This reminds me of what John and Glenn Hicks set up in the studio for their contribution to Velo-Deluxe. Except this times about three.
